Millwright /Charge hand

SUMMARY:
Our client is in the Textile Mill manufacturing business and has a vacancy for a qualified Millwright /charge hand at their Durban site.

POSITION INFO:

Applicant must have at least four years maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, and be a qualified Millwright or Electrician. Must have strong analytical and fault finding abilities, able to independently determine the root cause of any fault on large industrial machinery. The candidate needs to have the following skill set:

• Read electrical drawings
• Trace wiring faults in existing panels and work out their function
• Be able to design and build basic electrical panels
• Good understanding of AC variable speed drives, being able to wire them up and program their parameters
• Basic mechanical fitting skills so as to be able to strip out and install electric motors or other basic mechanical work
• Good understanding of relay and contactor switch gear
• Basic understanding of PLC’s
• Willing to get involved in mechanical work if there is no electrical work that requires doing at the time.
