Microbiologist - Killarney Gardens - Cape Town

Main purpose of the job:

• To provide testing service to production, by perfoming all microbiological tests on the final products, in- process QC monitoring samples and the factory to monitor compliance with food safety and environmental hygiene and sanitation standards.

Prefered Minimum Requirements:

• B.Sc Chemistry or Biochemistry
• National Diploma Food Technology or Equivalent qualification
• 2-3 Years Experience in a Food Manufacturing Environment
• Candidate should have prior Experience in Aseptic Sampling Method, Microbiological Analysis

Knowledge: 

• ISO, HACCP, GMP, Food Technology.
• World class manufacturing and quality practices and models.
• Specific product and process knowledge.
• Testing methods and tools used in micro testing.
• Problem solving tools
• Audit practices and principals
• Knowledge of SANAS Practice & Principals
• Maintaining occupational health, safety and environmental legislation relevant to the food manufacturing industry 
• Problem solving techniques
• Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures in the food manufacturing environment 
• Knowledge of the effect of micro orginisms on personal health, hygiene and food safety 
• Monitor quality control practice in a food manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of aseptiv sampling methods
