SUMMARY: Microbiologist
POSITION INFO:
Main purpose of the job:
• To Provide testing service to production by performing all microbiological tests on the final products. In-process QC monitoring of samples and in the factory to monitor compliance with food safety, environmental hygiene and sanitation standardsPrefered Minimum Requirements:• Preferably Matric (Gr. 12)• BSc Chemistry or Bio Chemistry or Microbiology or Food Science or ND in Food Technology or equivalent qaulificationKnowledge:• ISO, HACCP, GMP, Food Technology.• World class manufacturing and quality practices and models.• Specific product and process knowledge.• Testing methods and tools used in micro testing.• Problem solving tools• Audit practices and principals• Knowledge of SANAS Practice & Principals• Maintaining occupational health, safety and environmental legislation relevant to the food manufacturing industry• Problem solving techniques• Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures in the food manufacturing environment• Knowledge of the effect of micro orginisms on personal health, hygiene and food safety• Monitor quality control practice in a food manufacturing environment• Knowledge of aseptiv sampling methods
Skills:
• Ability to maintain quality management and quality control systems• Ability to carry out aseptic sampling tests in line with best practices• Analytical thinking• Ability to pay attention to detail
