Opportunity Available!! Our leading client in the Automotive Sector is looking to employ a Metrologist to join their team in East London.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Description: 

  • Concise understanding and utilization of PC-DMIS CMM Software. Creation of CMM Measurement Programmes for New Products.
  • Product and Fixture Measuring Program design and implementation (3D Measuring on CMM)
  • Support Projects Team with start-up of new product processes.
  • Interface with Customer on Measurement related Issues and Concerns.
  • Take the lead on New Gauging Concepts and Key Measurement Approval Processes with the Customer.
  • Creation of Gauge/Measurement Work Instructions.
  • Training and Testing of Quality and Production personnel on the above Instructions.
  • Understanding GD&T
  • Conduct MSA – (Gauge R&R & Cgk Studies)
  • Conceptual and Mechanical Gauge and Fixture 3D Design advantageous.
  • Ability to problem solve measurement related issues.
  • Coordinate and implement internal and external quality concern investigations
  • Initiate communication to management team immediately on issues and initiate containment activities
  • Coordinate Internal Auditing System
  • Conduct Process and Product Audits
  • Follow up open / overdue actions (8D, Audits, etc.) regularly and report any issues / risks to the Quality Manager.
  • Monthly reporting of Quality Metrics (Open / Closed / Overdue / Pareto Areas / Pareto Concerns)
  • Coordinate the actions resulting from the Product Quality Review Meeting (Production Meeting)
  • Define and coordinate receiving inspection activities
  • Monitor quality performance of suppliers and rate suppliers monthly (Quality and Delivery – input from Logistics). Report monthly on supplier performance to the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Support the validation and verification activities for new processes and products
  • Responsible for the management, training and mentoring of Quality Technicians to operate the CMM;
  • Manage the Measuring and Monitoring Equipment Calibration Program and ensure that all devices / equipment are calibrated / verified.

Job Requirements: 

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant Engineering Diploma/Degree will be preferred
  • Certificate in 3D Measuring
  • GT&D Training
  • Diploma / Certificate in Quality (TQM / City & Guilds)
  • Automotive Core Tool Training
