Metrologist – Equipment Calibrator

Temperature and Humidity Calibration Lab

POSITION INFO:

Our client is a leader in production and distribution of measuring instruments and systems. They specialise in state of the art, highly calibrated and precise machinery for various industries. 

Employee Duties & Responsibilities

• Identify magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results to define reliability of measurement process in quantitative terms.
• Redesigns or adjusts measurement capability to minimize errors
• Develop calibration methods and techniques
• Assist our engineering, quality, and laboratory personnel in design, manufacture, evaluation, and calibration of measurement standards, instruments, and test systems to make sure selection of approved instrumentation.
• Advise others on methods of resolving measurement problems and exchanges information with other metrology personnel 

Abilities

• Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
• Manage own time and the time of others.
• Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, organization rules, and the democratic political process.
• Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

Requirements:

• MetCert / Data Analytics / Computer Engineering or similar degree
• Ideally signatory at another calibration lab
• Previous experience in calibration role (preferably Temperature/Humidity)

Preferred candidate would have done the following courses:

• SANAS Laboratory System Course ISO 17025
• SANAS Internal Auditing Course
• Method Validation
• Introduction to Measurement
• Uncertainty of Measurement
• Temperature measurement
• Humidity Measurement
