Purpose of Position:
Complement Recruitment are recruiting for a Metallizer Plastic Extrusion Operators for a permanent position based in eThekwini, Durban, Kwazulu Natal.

- Grade 12 Compulsory
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience operating cast line machinery in an extrusion operation / steel / converting manufacturing environment
- Certificate or Diploma Plastic Manufacturing / Extrusion Operations / N6 Electrical / Chemical / Mechanical Engineering advantageous
- Industry experience – manufacturing, food, packaging, plastics, blow moulding or similar
- Timeliness
- Ability to obtain forklift and overhead crane license and operate a forklift and overhead crane
- Quality
- Food Safety
- 5S Initiative, HIRA, Safety, KAIZEN
- Computer Literate
Duties:
- Set-up execute relevant safety, quality, site rules, training, as per SOP.
- Conducts proper shift handovers at each shift change
- Feed raw material into Bins or Silo as per running plan.
- Feed raw material into correct dosings as per production plan
- Pull scrap from process area into grinder area.
- Ensure pre-use safety inspection before Operating Feeding machine, Winder, Crane, Grinder, Erema
- Complete all relevant logbook and checklist as per schedule on shift basis
- Start-up and set-up machine under supervisor instruction.
- Use turn table for quality sampling when required and operate safely to avoid injuries and downtime.
- Pinning, mapping and spindle adjustment during micron change over
- Clean main extruder dosing tower, suction filter as per schedule.
- Initiate at least one Kaizen per month
- Maintain SS of machine and work area
- Ensure adherence to schedule
- Take lawful instruction from Senior Operator or Supervisor
- Clean Main LLF Filter and Its parts and COFIT Filter.
- Identify HIRA and inform Supervisor to revise HIRA list
- To report machine fault immediately to Supervisor.
- Continuous monitoring of machine parameters and quality of product.
- To follow and execute the various instructions given by the superiors based on time to time requirement related to operations
- Perform to quality, waste, and production standards and goals & meet the highest of quality standards
- Report production accurately and timely including waste, WIP, time codes, raw materials, etc
- Ensure your own safety while operating the machine and that of those assisting with operations
