A leading supplier in the clothing industry seeks a Merchandiser to join their team, based in Durban.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requirements:

Relevant Diploma or Degree in Fashion/Clothing
Experience in a similar role
Experience with Accessories/Underwear (Menswear) is highly advantageous
Ability to build and maintain relationships with buyers and suppliers
Understanding of costing and negotiating prices

Duties and Responsibilities:

Overseas buying & trending trips
Range building
Sourcing suppliers
Provide & manage problem solving for critical path (leadtime)/production issues
Costing & Margin management
Team Management
Key account management
Responsible for driving sales and meeting targets
Managing and growing existing business
Building strong relationships with buyers
Trend research, buying and presenting ranges to buyers
Taking briefs from buyers and costing
Negotiating with buyers.
Managing a team of 4
