SUMMARY:
Seeking an experienced Merchandise Coordinator to join a leading Clothing Manufacturer and Supplier to the major retail fashion chains. To be based at their offices in Riverhorse Valley, Durban.

POSITION INFO:

Key Duties

  • Coordinating Function:
  • Working closely with the Merchandiser to handle all orders from the moment received to delivery.
  • Arranging Trims / Fabric sampling needed for First Fits.
  • Sending Fabric PO’S and ordering Trims through Trims department. Updating sync accordingly.
  • Constant tracking of fabric/trims orders with suppliers, according to fabric lead times and delivery dates.
  • Checking PO’s (follow up with changes, check pricing, del date & all details) and Loading onto Sync.
  • Arranging and sending lab dips / strike offs / trim approvals for buyer - track approvals and update Sync / Trims department / China Suppliers accordingly.
  • Working closely with pattern maker on Fits and PPS, and Trims.
  • Liaising with sample cutter, handing over of fabrics and ensuring items are in order of priority.
  • Liaising with machinist and grading room.
  • Sending off fabrics for Outwork (pleating / printing / embroidery).
  • Critical path management, pushing for Fits / PPS comments so that timelines are met.
  • Getting digital ratings at Fit / PPS stages.
  • Getting tryout packs ready for factories (markers, fabrics, seals, and trims).
  • Fabric shortage / Reject claims.
  • Sending local fabrics for wash testing.
  • Ordering Swingtickets.
  • CMT contracts.
  • Sending Parcels to China.
  • Reporting to Merchandiser and updating on order status.
  • Weekly production meetings to ensure all is on track.
  • Problem solving.
  • QA Function:
  • Photographing Fit / PP samples.
  • Filling in Fit paperwork  / PP paperwork.
  • Liaising with QA on measurement discrepancies from Patternmaker.
  • Chasing for approvals.
  • Lab tests and Lab reports.
  • Ordering Washcare labels, ensuring Test reports are matching.

Min Requirements

  • Clothing related tertiary qualification will be an advantage, but not essential.
  • Min 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Relevant experience working in clothing manufacture / supply environment.
  • Understanding of clothing supply chain leadtimes, deadlines, dealing with buyers, etc.
  • Basic understanding of how garments are constructed.
  • Computer literate and proficient in Excel and Sync.
  • Admin oriented, organized, and process driven.
  • Proactive and able to prioritise and handle pressure
  • Good attention to detail.
