POSITION INFO:

A client of ours has a vacancy exists for a Medical Technologist Discipline Clinical pathology based at Private Hospital in Johannesburg

This is a 3month contract with a chance of going permanent.

The successful candidate will be responsible to perform and analyze biohazardous laboratory samples such as blood, swabs or body fluids, in order to provide results for medical practitioners to diagnose and treat patients. Medical technologists are responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment used to analyze specimens and ensuring that tests are completed accurately in a correct and timely manner, while abiding to Good Laboratory practice and Quality assurance measures. The medical technologist on site will perform duties as a Tech in Charge at each facility, and will report into the Hospital manager.

Requirements

• Completion of a Medical Technology diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, in discipline Clinical Pathology (Essential)
• Registration with HPCSA (Medical technologist in discipline Clinical pathology)
• 2-5 years’ experience or supervisory role
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in pressured environment
• Ability to work independently, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude
• Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner
• LIS/ system interfacing experience
