Medical Technologist

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual for a Medical Technologist for a 2 year fixed term contract.

POSITION INFO:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high quality service and accurate diagnostic testing for company projects.

Receiving, sorting, storing and retrieval of samples
Data capturing and statistical reports
Review diagnostic results, issue amended reports (when required) to ensure integrity of results
New analysis and/or LIS validation processes
Monitor equipment maintenance and assist with stock inventory control
Work from project site laboratories when required
Adherence to infection control measures which includes ensuring the correct disposal of bio-hazardous waste (including autoclaving)
Assist in SOP development, writing and implementation

National Diploma in Medical Technology (Microbiology or Clinical Pathology)
B.Tech Degree in Medical Technology (Clinical Pathology) is preferred
Current Registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa (H.P.C.S.A)
3-5 years relevant experience in a Clinical laboratory
Knowledge of HIV / AIDS and basic understanding of TB
Experience performing QC and EQA samples
Knowledge of SANAS, GCP, and GCLP standards

Willing to work at least one Saturday a month
Willing to work at least one 10 - 7 shift a month
