Medical Sales Executive - Pharmaceuticals

POSITION INFO:

This position is strictly EE. The position is permanent, beginning with secondment into the Medical Department on a short-term assignment, after which the secondment will either be extended (as per the company strategy) or the position will become part of the permanent sales team. A secondment allowance will be payable in lieu of a performance bonus.

The successful candidate will provide support across the assigned metabolism therapeutic area based on company needs and will be actively involved with building relationship with key players within the medical field and providing advanced product and therapeutic information to these organisations and key players. The focus area is Metabolism (diabetes, cardiovascular risk, heart failure and chronic kidney disease).

Main responsibilities include:

1. Selection of, and providing scientific information to, internal and external stakeholders
2. Identifying potential customer contacts in conjunction with the team
3. Organisation of meetings, discussions, advisory panels and conferences
4. Product training
5. Responding to customer enquiries and providing relevant and accurate information
6. Sharing feedback from customers with internal stakeholders
7. Interpretation and writing of scientific literature
8. Attending external national and international scientific meetings
9. Conducting regular research
10. Support of the company presence and products through neighbouring territories

Position requirements:

1. Minimum Honours level Health Sciences Degree
2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Medical Sales Rep position
3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
4. Advanced presentation and computer skills
5. Passion regarding the medical field
6. Ability to work alone and in teams
7. Self-driven
8. Solid understanding of the medical commercial environment
9. Ability to travel locally and internationally

Salary is R420 000 negotiable per annum, plus car allowance/company car, and secondment allowance. Standard large company benefits apply.
