Our client, a distinguished Clinical Haematologist located in Johannesburg, is on the hunt for a capable and polished Medical Receptionist/Personal Assistant. We're seeking an individual who will embody the role of practice ambassador and handle all responsibilities with the utmost professionalism and dedication to superior patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warmly greet and assist patients, whether in-person or over the phone, with courtesy and empathy.
- Efficiently manage appointment scheduling and maintain meticulous records and accounts.
- Address patient inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Maintain an organized diary and appointment schedule.
- Keep patients informed if there are any delays and manage service disruptions gracefully.
- Demonstrate empathy towards patients and anticipate their anxieties.
- Skillfully handle the filing and retrieval of patient records.
- Ensure accuracy in maintaining patient accounts by collecting, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Take responsibility for payments, collections, and the accurate processing of payments.
- Oversee practice inventory and equipment, including ordering supplies and scheduling equipment servicing.
- Respond to patient emergencies with composure and professionalism.
- Uphold strict confidentiality regarding medical, personal, and financial information.
- Collaborate seamlessly with the team to maintain a harmonious work environment.
- Maintain a tidy and welcoming reception area.
- Adhere to the practice's values and protocols.
- Perform general administrative tasks efficiently.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Strong academic background with good matric results and relevant qualifications.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Personal Assistant or receptionist in the medical field.
- Willingness to become well-versed in all practice policies and procedures.
- Exceptional communication etiquette.
- Proficiency in using Google Calendar, and Microsoft Office (OneDrive, OneNote, Excel, and Word).
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Flexibility to work varying hours as needed.
