Medical Consultant (Acute Rehab)

SUMMARY:
A challenging position awaits for an experienced Medical Consultant at an Acute Rehabilitation facility in Durban. The successful applicant must have a minimum of 5 years hospital clinical experience in this specialty.

POSITION INFO:

Role summary & key responsibilities:

·       Provide clinical services within the rehabilitation unit

·       Clinical assessments and daily medical management of the patients in the unit

·       Evaluations, program planning and treatment of the patients

·       Educate patients and family members about the patient’s condition

·       Participate in patient family and work meetings

·       Liaison with multi-disciplinary rehab team regarding patients goal setting and discharge plan

·       Update and maintenance of all clinical documentation

·       Participate in the facility development by marketing the business unit

Education & skills:

MBBCH qualification and registered with HPCSA

Minimum of 5 years hospital based clinical experience in acute rehabilitation, neurology, orthopedics or general medicine

Experience leading a team of professionals and provide clinical supervision to the professionals

Good understanding of the private healthcare industry and relevant legislation
