SUMMARY:
A well established Engineering and Construction Company is looking to fill the position of Mechanical and Piping Draughtsperson in their Germiston office. The purpose of a Mechanical and Piping Draughtsperson is to produce concept and detailed 3D models, designs, and drawings for projects in a process engineering design and construction environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Generate conceptual & detailed designs for Projects including:
3D models, drawings and BOQ’s (Bill of Quantities) in Piping and Mechanical disciplines
According to client specification within agreed time frame
With the appropriate CAD software
Red lining and as build of equipment and modular plants at fabricators and site
Incorporating as built information and lessons learned on future equipment and modular plants
Manage own time and responsibilities on an ongoing basis within key deadlines according to company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Certificate or Diploma in Engineering / Drafting (mechanical and piping)
±5 years CAD draughting (3D modelling, from conceptual drawings to workshop fabrication detail drawings) on process engineering related projects which includes Piping & Mechanical disciplines. Exposure to site and workshop environments
AutoCAD 3D modeling and 2D drawings - Essential
Autodesk Plant 3D - utilizing the piping module for pipe routing and detailing, using the correct piping specifications - Essential
Inventor - mainly used for mechanical detailing - Essential
Generation of free hand sketches before progressing to CAD
Microsoft Office Suite of products - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
Process – able to read and apply process diagrams in the designing of process plants
Mechanical – layout and detailing of vendor and fabricated equipment to specified codes and standards
Piping – Layout and detailing of piping systems to specific codes and standards
Application of Drawing office standard practise.
