Qualifications / Requirements:

• National Diploma / Degree in Engineering Mechanical or Mechatronics
• Minimum of 3 years in automotive industry related maintenance experience
• Knowledge of extensive operation of pneumatics and hydraulics, conveyor systems, Kuka robots (installations, repairs and software packages) and other safety devices
• Maintenance experience related to automotive production, automation / robotic or control systems
• Relevant mechanical installations expertise
• Fluent in faultfinding and problem solving techniques and be able to understand mechanical drawings, installation diagrams, equipment manual etc
• Able to use various mechanical meters and testing equipment and be able to understand the function/operation of basic mechanical systems
• Able to improve machine performance by streamlining preventative maintenance tasks and frequencies
• Ability to carry out modifications to existing equipment by introduction the latest technologies
• Communication skills (written and verbal) at various levels
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Ability to work independently, leading a technical team
• Good understanding of technical / engineering concepts, design and drawings
• Ability to plan, co-ordinate and manage projects successfully

Key Performance Areas:

• Take ownership and responsibility for mechanical installations and repairs in Body Shop and to ensure that all facilities are maintained properly to perform at maximum level
• Design, recommend, update and modify mechanical installations to the latest engineering technology in order to ensure that company keeps up with the latest technology used in the Automotive Industry
• Advise on mechanical repairs where necessary
• Keep abreast of latest technologies within the company by sourcing and obtaining information from internal and external customers in order to execute projects using these technologies
• Analyse, fault find and service to ensure that facilities have maximum up time and are fully optimised to achieve maximum output
• Resolving of technical problems by creating alternative solutions and applying specialized techniques in order to decrease losses due to line stoppages
• Carry out on the job training to other maintenance personnel using various methods and techniques as per Group standards, in order to improve technical skills within Body Shop maintenance
• Liaison with customers (internal/ external/ local and international) to define needs and potential solutions that will result in new configurations suited to new technical and customer specific needs
• Initiate, implement and assist with continuous improvement by supporting the Kaizen efforts with applicable mechanical knowledge and guidance regarding existing installations in plant in order to minimise production stoppage
• Be involved in sourcing of spares to ensure full support of Maintenance department
