Mechanical Supervisor

SUMMARY:
Project Engineering Client, specializing in the facilitation of projects within the field of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.  Their branch in Durban is looking for a Mechanical Supervisor (can be Trade Tested) to provide efficient site supervision during the execution of projects from pre-engineering to commissioning and handover. This individual MUST have Supervisory and Management experience, with a working knowledge of Boiler making/Pipefitting/Welding and be willing to travel and work away from home

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements:

• Matric or National Technical Certificate 3.
• Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical (Trade Test).
• Minimum of 3 years Supervisory and Management experience essential.
• Knowledge of Boiler making/Pipefitting/Welding Experience required.
• Valid Driver’s License Code 08.
• Own Transport Essential.
• Must be willing to travel and work away from home.
• Proficient in both Afrikaans and English (Read, speak, and write).
• Knowledge of Quality Control Plans
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Designs
• Knowledge of OHSA Act
• Flexibility and Willingness to work long hours if necessary.

Responsibilities but not limited to:

• Formulating Production Program – Control/Planning.
• Ordering of raw materials/components for plant equipment and labour utilization.
• Achieving targets and ensuring that budgeted guidelines are met.
• Scheduling work throughout plant/site.
• Managing general multi-projects.
• Liaising with contract managers daily on updates of the projects.
• Liaising with clients.
• Set delivery schedules.
• Management of Mechanical Engineering Team.
• Adherence to Health and Safety Requirements.
• Adherence to ISO Standards.
• Adherence to any other instruction as given by the Contracts.
