Mechanical Sales Engineer, Mining Equipment – East Rand

SUMMARY:
A well-established manufacturer of specialised Mining equipment is looking for a suitably experienced Sales Engineer for their operations on the East Rand.

POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities

• Management of Key customer relationships - maintaining effective and reliable long-term relationships

• Interact with key customers at all levels, and build relationships and trust
• Visit underground operations to review the products in operation, determine the customer satisfaction and production performance, and offer solutions for improvement and future innovation as required
• Manage customer debt and outstanding debtors on a monthly basis
• Advise customers on maintenance best practices, and repair kits to optimise machine performance

• Responsible for achieving sales, revenues and profitability targets by selling with confidence the products and their application
• Optimise existing sales and pursue new sales opportunities
• Thorough knowledge of the products, their applications, features and benefits
• Assume the lead project management role in developing and managing service and product support interventions including product trials and performance tests

• Responsible for aftermarket product support at various clients
• Understanding of the local business environment, the individual customer preferences, alliances and commitments
• Respond to break-downs, standing machines whether own brand or other products if in a position to supply the correct parts
• Understand opposition pricing, relationships, sales and service practices, and any advantages they offer

• Solve technical queries on products, by providing either telephonic support or on-site support
• Give after hours support to clients, where necessary

Requirements

• BSc Mechanical Engineering is Non-negotiable
• Current and valid driver’s license
• MUST HAVE +4 years Mechanical Sales Engineer experience with Mining equipment – This is NON-NEGOTIABLE

• Must be computer literate – MS Office
• Must be able to travel extensively
• Good mathematical skills and basic reasoning ability
• Salary is dependent on technical expertise and relevant experience
• South African citizens only

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven sales track record
