Mechanical Engineer - Research and Development R45 000.00 to R 55 000.00 TCTC per month Centurion

POSITION INFO:

A client dominating the industry of Industrial Pumping Solutions for Mining and Minerals is looking to add a Mechanical Engineer in their Research and Product Development team. 

Minimum requirements:

  • BEng Mechanical Engineer (Minimum)
  • 5 Years experience in 3D Modelling and design 
  • + 3 Years of research and development experience
  • Expert in CAD Software
  • Must be able to perform advanced FEA and CFD analysis and interpret results
  • Understanding of fluid dynamics and centrifugal pumps will be a big advantage
  • Experience in mineral processing plants will be a big advantage

 

Key Functions of Role:

  • Research and development of new products and technologies in the mining and mineral processing industry.
  • Designing new products and presenting ideas to colleagues for design review.
  • Performing FEA and CFD Simulations and creating CAD models and drawing packs.
  • Managing prototype builds and testing. Testing may be off-site on mineral processing plants.
  • Investigate new suppliers and products and be at the forefront of available technology to improve products.
  • Liaising with suppliers, create project plans and manage projects
