SUMMARY:
This position calls for the assistance of a Mechanical Engineer / Project Engineer; the role will include travelling throughout South Africa and Southern Africa.

POSITION INFO:

Qualification

  • Matric
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

 

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience within a similar environment
  • Must have own transport
  • Previous working experience from Eskom
  • Experience in general manufacturing and maintenance
  • Engineering workshop, machining an grinding experience
  • Experience working with ISO 9001 quality management system
  • Basic CAD experience
  • Microsoft office
  • Must be able to use mechanical measuring
  • Understand and interpret technical drawings
  • Understanding of basic welding processes
  • Knowledge and experience in surface engineering and coatings (Preferable)
  • Understanding of breakdowns in the power generation industry
  • Exposure to sales processes beneficial

 

Duties

  • Mechanical Engineer needs to be able to operate largely independently.
  • Mechanical Engineer must be able to liaise with customers, specify solutions and quote.
  • Prepare quotes, within 24 hours of receiving the enquiry, in the company format.
  • Negotiate tenders, contract terms and conditions to meet client and company needs.
  • Give timeous and proper feedback to customers on delivery dates etc.
  • Remains current in terms of all technologies relevant to the industry.
