Mechanical Draughtsman

SUMMARY:
My client, a market leader in the design, manufacture and maintenance of water treatment solutions is seeking a Junior Mechanical Draughtsman. 3D Modelling on Inventor and drawing is non-negotiable.

POSITION INFO:

 QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED: 

• Relevant mechanical engineering qualification
• Proven work experience as a Drafter or similar role with previous experience in water treatment.
• Inventor: 2 years (Preferred)
• Work well under stress
• AutoCAD: 2 years (Preferred)
• Deadline driven and be able to work in a Team. 

• Should have hands-on experience with computer-aided design software – Inventor/CAD.
• Gathering drawings and specifications, specify equipment fittings and parts.
• Should have experience on Microsoft Programmes – Word, Excel
• Liaise with Proposal Engineers and Projects engineers for skid and plant design info.
• Describe manufacturing process step-by-step for work shop staff to assemble plant.
• Create detailed designs with computer-aided design (CAD) software
• Generate PID’s and General Assemblies. – to create rendered images from the GA’s
• Create bills of material for jobs as required by engineers.
• Route pipe work and place equipment from PID’s
•         Carry out mechanical designs for skids, containers and tanks, as necessary
•          Water treatment & PVC pipe work experience – will be in your favour
•         Hands-on experience with computer-aided design software – Inventor 2021, AutoCAD
•          Familiarity with 3D modelling on Inventor and the Pipe & tube Environment.

Project management:

• Skills and responsibilities include but not limited to:
•          Project planning, coordination and execution
•          Procurement and financial reporting
•          Liaising with Client’s and understanding their requirements
•          Troubleshooting and problem solving
•          Coordination of various project stakeholders to ensure project delivery on time and on budget
•          Advantageous to have a background in water treatment for a fuller understanding of the technologies applied.

• Development of drawings and schedules
• Development of supplementary documentation such as manuals, commissioning SOPs etc.
• FAT testing and commissioning.
• Troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Advantageous to have a background in water treatment for a fuller understanding of the technologies applied.
