POSITION INFO:

Mechanical Design and Structural Analysis Engineer - Western Cape - R50,000 - R55,000 Per month CTC

Qualification & Requirement’s:

B.Eng,B.Sc.Eng or M.Sc.Eng in Mechanical Engineering
5+ years related experience
Experience in Pressure Vessel Design
Technical expertise with CAD and FEA platforms
Experience of Solid works, Creo & Abacus will be beneficial.
Experience with ERP and PDM tools
Experience writing and reviewing analysis/test reports

Responsibilities:

Conducts various forms of modelling (mathematical, 3D, etc.) to determine if proposed designs are technically feasible.
Perform pressure vessel design calculations, design reports and supporting documentation for pressure vessel approval.
Perform structural design calculations to international design codes.
Create 3d mesh models of mechanical systems in CAD and perform finite element analysis.
Participate in new vehicle design and development (concept layouts, mass calculations and weight distributions)
Participate in component verification activities
Identifies continuous improvement/automation activities
Applies engineering principles to develop mechanical products that meet customer technical/functional specifications as well as manufacturing cost/efficiency requirements
Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototypes
May also be involved with designing product specific manufacturing production processes and equipment
Coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower-level professionals
Creates and manages institutional knowledge
Other duties as assigned
