Mechanic

POSITION INFO:

A qualified mechanic to maintain and repair the company’s fleet of vehicles

Qualified mechanic. Needs to have certification

Needs to have matric
Proficient on a computer
Minimum 5 years’ experience working on cars
Available as soon as possible
Permanent position
Must have own transport

Brief outline of responsibilities are as follows:

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

(Key Performance Areas and Tasks)

Key performance Indicators

Maintenance of company vehicles

Inspect and test vehicles, listen to operator complaints
Complete preventative maintenance such as:

Engine tune ups
Oil changes
Tire rotation
Filter replacement etc.

Company vehicles are in a functional condition
Inspections are done routinely
Costs for services and maintenance work kept to a minimum

Repair of damaged company vehicles

Maintain vehicle function condition by repairing:

engine failures,
mechanical and electrical malfunctions,

Replace parts and components
Repair body damage
Provide accurate estimates for repair job
Source spare parts for repairs

Vehicles are repaired in good time and for the best price
Vehicles operate effectively after repair work completed
Vehicles are in a reputable condition
Secure parts which are in good condition at best possible cost
