Mechanic

Our client has an EE opportunity available for a Mechanic.

Requirements:

• 5 years’ experience in a mining maintenance environment, preferably plant and machinery.
• 3 years’ practical experience and understanding in pneumatics, hydraulics and pumps.
• PLC controls and basic instrumentation- advantageous.
• Mechanical trade test- red seal.
• Working knowledge of production and quality control principles.
• Ability to:

• • Interpret, analyze and use technical data.
  • Reference and interpret technical operating manuals, specifications drawings and diagrams.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks and consistently meet deadlines and schedules.
  • Grasp application and functioning of new technology.
  • Respond positively to changing requirements and pressures.
  • Communicate technical detail with all stakeholders, service providers and management.
• Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance and quality.

Responsibilities:

• On site breakdowns, call outs, repairs, modifications, routine equipment audits.
• Provide technical support and advice to the operations and clients about the implementation of, training on, and marketing of the ECU systems.
• Manage stocks and cost control.
• Manage compliance to all relevant SHERQ legislations and codes of practice.
• Ensure the maintenance of equipment and vehicles.
• Audit maintenance plan compliance.
• Conduct pump safety audits.
• Maintain an orderliness and clean workshop and work environment.

This is a 6-month contract position.
