Responsibilities
Networking and keeping abreast of market developments
Conducting in-depth market research that will inform concept development and business proposals
Developing comprehensive knowledge of the South African curriculum and interpreting curriculum requirements at all schooling levels
Working comfortably within a matrix across different teams
Managing all projects effectively within agreed parameters
Monitoring and coordinating the book publishing process
Completing all required publishing administration related to projects
Managing costs for all projects
Supporting the sales and marketing teams with product training
Developing digital content for Mathematics and Technology projects
Cost effectiveness
High approval results and timeously delivery within agreed project parameters are key in order to contribute to the overall revenue and market-share growth
 
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics
At least three years of educational publishing experience; teaching experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
A sound understanding of the educational environment and the educational publishing industry in South Africa
Ability to interpret Mathematics and Technology curricula at all schooling levels
A solid understanding of book publishing processes (an ability to switch between print and digital processes would be an advantage)
Sound knowledge of copyright and the law of contracts
Excellent project management skills
Strong organizational skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
Able to work independently and within a team
