SUMMARY:
Career advancement opportunity for an experienced Professional Nurse with Labour & Maternity experience. The successful candidate will take on the responsibility as Second-in-charge of the unit, to ensure effective and quality nursing care.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Management of:

Staff in the unit, employee working hours and stock control
Ensure staff undergo orientation
Risk management regarding Infection control and SHEQ
Maintain and build good relationships with doctors and internal/external stakeholders
Caesarian section and normal deliveries
Ante-natal, Intrapartum and post-natal patients
Gynecology/surgical patients
Newborn babies and advocate for breastfeeding

Education and Experience:

Nursing Degree OR General Nursing Diploma with Midwifery OR Advanced Midwifery
SANC registered
Minimum of 4-5 years nursing experience in Labour and Maternity wards essential
Good Leadership skills and previous experience leading a team
Understanding and caring attitude
Good communication and listening skills
Ability to function well
