SUMMARY:
Purpose:
Assisting in the preparation of the plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture, assembling and testing of parts. The role will ensure system models are maintained using business intelligence and forecast information gathered from Oracle and other sources i.e. customer and supplier data.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Scope:

Reporting to the Planner, the role will form an integral part of a dedicated team.
Gathering and sharing appropriate information and ensuring targets are met and procedures are followed at all times.
Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging environment is essential
Supporting the Procurement team to ensure this function can continuously improve, add value to the organisation and work alongside the different disciplines within the company to achieve expected results.

Education

Diploma in Supply Chain or Procurement Management
Exposure to Engineering or Production will be an advantage

Experience and skills

Min of 3 years in a planning/procurement role within a manufacturing facility
Experience with Oracle MRP processes will be an advantage
A knowledge and aptitude for engineering
Competent Skills in Microsoft Office
Experience of statistical reporting, forecasting and understanding of financial and operational impacts of forecasting

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists with the planning workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
Prepare lists of required materials
May prepare purchase requisitions to obtain materials, tools, and equipment.
Ensure timely placement and delivery of components in production lines
Communicates material requirements to buyers to expedite
Communicates the rescheduling of open purchase orders to suit production planning requirements
BOM maintenance
Works order creation and job closure
Share, communicate and report on variances to internal supply chain
Use and maintain Oracle data as the primary planning system tool
Gather, analyse and validate data.
Share data with relevant departments.
Maintain good relationships among technical buyers, sales, production supervisors and quality.
Min of 2 years in a planning/procurement role within a manufacturing facility
