My client is searching to find top talent to join their team as a Marine Surveyor for a well-established insurance company. JOB DESCRIPTION:

Description
Under broad supervision to render to customers services that are timely, safe, legal, ethical, and effective. To perform the necessary surveys and assessments including reporting which ensure that the customer receives an independent, accurate, and complete assessment incorporating reporting that is of quality.

Min Requirements

Grade 12
Min 5 years experience in a similar role
Experience/Certification in Marine Surveying or Cargo Surveying
Physically fit to do the work required
Cannot have a fear for hight

Duties and Responsibilities
The ideal Candidate should be capable of working independently or as a team covering surveys that include but not limited to the following:

Container causalities
Project cargo
Ocean and motor vehicle cargo surveys
Cargo claims
Recoveries
Carrier’s liabilities
Perishable food and beverages
Goods in Transit investigations
Desktop surveys / investigations
Warehouse inspections & investigations
Securing surveys
Transport Damage
Pleasure craft surveys.
Communicate and coordinate with terminals, agents, and Company personnel to promote smooth exercise of duties assigned.
Communicate the results of any surveys / investigations and to make the entries into the appropriate media, whether print or electronic, required ensuring the validity and traceability of the information.
Assist in the training of less experienced employees
Carry out the above responsibilities, and all others which may be assigned, in a manner demonstrating support for and adherence to the Company’s various Policies and to exercise good judgment, common sense, and diplomacy in so doing.
