Buyer Procurement (Manufacturing) – Durban KZN
Purpose of Position:
Complement Recruitment are recruiting for a Buyer from the Manufacturing sector, for a permanent position based in eThekwini, Durban Kwazulu Natal. 3-5 years previous experience in Procurement as a Buyer in a manufacturing environment, knowledge of imports, process purchasing requisitions and to convert these into purchase orders. Salary: R20-24k Per Month.

- National Diploma in Supply Chain Management or equivalent qualification
- 3 – 5 year buying experience in manufacturing/textile environment
- Systems: Excel & Syspro would be advantageous
- Knowledge of import processes and requirements
- Knowledge of Syspro System would be beneficial
- Knowledge of PPPFA and PFMA would beneficial

Duties:
- Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality, BBBEE requirements and delivery targets.
- Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Process requisitions and orders.
- Supervise and support junior buyers.
- Support other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations.
- Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new
- projects and activities
- Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organisation
- Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
- Provide analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities
- Prepare reports and updates as and when required.
- Attend to breakdown and emergency requirements with utmost urgency.
- Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make
- business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
- Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications.
- Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships
- Ensure Compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures and PPPFA guidance during
- supplier negotiations and contracts award process.
- Conduct research for new components and suppliers.
- Compile data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation.
- Assess and evaluate suppliers and contribute to performance reviews to ensure contract compliance.
- Review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements.
- Maintain BEEE certificates for suppliers.
- Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues.
