SUMMARY:
We are recruiting a Mandarin/English Interpreter

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The successful candidate must fulfill the following minimum requirements:

The following qualifications and experience are essential:

B Tech Degree or equivalent
Must read, write and speak Mandarin Chinese, Putong Hua fluently
Able to translate on all MS Office packages
2 - 5 years experience in mining, engineering, production or heavy industry
Have knowledge of mining equipment, machinery, spare parts or tools.
The incumbent should preferably be a Chinese person that has South African Permanent Residency / Have a Valid SA ID
Reliable, able to cope with pressure, and available for standby duties

Although not limited to, the incumbent's primary responsibilities will include

Follow ethical codes that protect the confidentiality of information
Translate messages simultaneously or consecutively into Mandarin & English languages, orally maintaining message content, contexts, and style as much as possible
Listen to speakers' statements to determine meanings and to prepare translations
Read written materials such as policy, process, and procedure documents and rewrite material into specified languages
