Manager: Student Counselling Unit
STUDENT AFFAIRS DIVISION
Alice and East London
Applications are invited from qualified and experienced candidates for the above- mentioned permanent post in the Student Counselling Unit – Student Affairs Division.

POSITION INFO:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·        Strategy Implementation
·        Provide individual, relationship and family counselling utilizing a variety of therapy modalities
·        Conduct psychological, cognitive developmental and other assessments
·        Ensure that the clinical and administrative standards are in accordance with University policies
·        Review and monitor budgets
·        Ensure all monthly statistics, financials, quantitative and qualitative information is reported
·        Maintain appropriate records in accordance with established documentation protocols. 
·        Provide leadership, management and support to staff
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT AND EXPERIENCES:
·        Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology
·        Registered Psychologist with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) with 5 or more years clinical experience
·        Financial Management skills
·        Demonstrated experience in understanding the complexities, supporting and coordinating services for students
·        Demonstrated experience in, or ability to, manage, lead and support a multidisciplinary team across all campuses
·        Excellent communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution and problem solving skills
·        Excellent time management skills with demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate multiple tasks
 
NB: The Manager will be based in Alice though the incumbent will be expected to render services at all University of Fort Hare campuses.
