The Head of Institutional Planning and Quality Assurance provides leadership on institutional research and product planning, compliance, registration, accreditation and integrated quality assurance. Responsible for promoting integrated quality assurance and enhancement for the College. Formulates and drives implementation of an institutional plan informed by business needs and compliant with regulation, monitors and reviews all policy and processes for optimal service delivery, and is accountable for all submissions to the CHE ensuring regulatory compliance regarding registration and accreditation of each programme.

Educational requirements:
Doctorate preferred by Minimum of a Master’s Degree
8-10 years’ experience in higher education
5 years in a management role
Experience in formulating policy, developing, and implementing new strategies and procedures
Experience in identification, design, development, and accreditation of new programmes
Experience in promoting scholarship and research agenda
Skill in creation of quality assurance plans and implementation thereof
In-depth knowledge of education and training legislature framework
Risk management, communication, and business acumen skills

Duties and Responsibilities:
Regulatory compliance and accreditation
Manage integrated quality assurance and accreditation portfolio
Monitor and evaluate quality standards and implement interventions to ensure regulatory compliance
Monitor and evaluate programme review cycle for compliance
Formulate and manage all accreditation and re-accreditation submissions and associated documentary evidence
New product development and accreditation
Formulate three year new programme road map
Ensure new product is designed and submitted for accreditation ensuring business requirements for product is met
International benchmarketing of new product and competitor analysis of similar products
Ensure processes of programme design, development and review and improved and training provided to academics where required
Responsible for quality submissions to CHE
Responsible for ensuring faculties are ready with new content, library is resourced and ready to launch new programme
Institutional planning
Oversee management of research into competitor positioning, new markets, local and global trends
Compile institutional plan informed by research
Manage process to ensure collaboration in creation of research material
Formulate and maintain accurate risk register and intervention plans to mitigate risks
Integrate quality assurance
Ensure IQAF is implemented
Create metrics
Responsible for quality and continued development of quality assurance through detailed quality audits
Ensure annual student rates are determined and interventions are implemented to improve student completion rates per programme
Academic Governance
Responsible for all institutional policies, annual review management and QA of associated processes and procedures for compliance
Formulate academic governance structure remit
Formulate and publish annual calendar of academic committee governance meetings
Chair institutional research and new programme development committee
