Our Client a Global tech firm is seeking a Manager: Data and Analytics (AI and Data Science) to join their team in a banking project on a contract basis in Cape town (Onsite). They offer stability, growth, attract rates and a great working environment

About the role:

As the Manager: Data Science/AI you will lead the bank’s AI and advanced analytics initiatives, driving innovation and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. Your role will focus on defining and implementing a forward-thinking AI strategy while fostering a high-performing team of data scientists to deliver impactful AI/ML solutions aligned with business objectives.

 You will be at the forefront of identifying AI-driven opportunities, overseeing the development and deployment of cutting-edge models, and ensuring alignment with ethical and compliance standards. By collaborating closely with stakeholders, you’ll help position our client as a leader in leveraging AI for business innovation and growth. Additionally, you’ll mentor your team to maintain high standards in AI/ML model quality and operational excellence, promoting a culture of continuous learning and data-driven innovation.

 Our ideal candidate has:

• Over 5 years in AI/ML model development and deployment, including 2 years as a manager or team lead within an analytical team.
• Managing senior and executive level stakeholders and influencing decision making at these levels
• Using AI frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch to deploy with whilst using Python, SQL, Pyspark
• Hands on experience integrating AI Models into applications and services
• Big data frameworks – Hadoop/Kafka
• Github experience or Git
