Manager Accounting Operations - SSC

SUMMARY:
Our Client, which is an American Company is urgently looking for a Manager Accounting Operations - SSC Manage the FA and Accounting team to execute the correct and timely monthly closing process in the different markets covered by the Shared Service Center for Finance, assist in the preparation and reporting of financial statements, in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards

POSITION INFO:

• Control, analyze and account for the recurring economic events of the group companies generating the necessary manual records related to expenses, income, costs, etc. applying the regulations accepted by the group companies, guaranteeing adequate accounting to send correct and timely information to the accounting area of the countries with which SC Finance works in the Africa Markets
• Attend to the requirements of the quarterly and annual external and internal audits, always in coordination with the local accounting area, complying with the requirements of IFRS, US GAAP and the SOX Law
• Supervise the preparation of the reconciliations and integrations reported by the SC Finance to ensure compliance and application of internal policies, as well as the timely and correct sending of information to the local accounting area and both internal and external auditing
• Lead the implementations of new consolidated reports for the region or new provisions that have an impact on accounting records
• Advise different local areas, Corporate and Africa Markets to resolve specific doubts regarding the various accounting and process issues
• Monitor, review and approve the reports related to accounting Asset monthly and quarterly either local or corporate, to different areas (Controller SC, Accounting Local Services Support Local and Taxes Local) for different areas count with correct and timely information

• Monitor, review and approve the operation of Assets in each area that consists of additions, cancellations, reclassifications, capitalization, depreciation and accounting close of the area to have the timely information for the monthly closings
• Approve the reconciliations of Fixed Assets and Projects vs. Accounting modules, ensuring correct and sufficient documentation and monitoring every month to clarify pending items, including escalation according to corporate policy
• Generate and ensure the operation of the data governance process for the countries served by the SC Finance, ensuring that internal information controls are complied with by clients and information requestors
• Hire, define objectives, evaluate, and develop the people who are in your charge. Likewise, he or she is responsible for giving coaching and feedback helping to achieve the organization''s objectives
• Review of monthly Bank reconciliation for all markets in line with agreed SLA’s. Ensure all reconciling items on the bank reconciliations are resolved in a timely manner.
• Ensure the monthly closing checklist for the Service Center is completed
• Perform quarterly access control review for all Service Center modules
• Analysis and Report of monthly metrics to demonstrate the performance of the Service Center against agreed SLA’s as established in the service level agreements
• Prepare monthly Service Center operational report for all markets
• Release payments for all markets, ensure payment are released in a timely manner
• Responsible for all back office activities in Fixed Assets for the Nigeria Market
• Contribute to the standardization of the financial accounting function within the Service Center and drive process ownership

• Partner with Business Process Management to identify and implement process improvements
• Prepare various financial reports as required by the business
• Approval of controls and audit processes
• To ensure all Cash Management and Fixed Assets processes are documented and signed off in ProMapp
• Review Insite report to ensure the GL for all the Service Center modules are closed
• Assist with other projects as needed
• Review audit trails for all sensitive fields changes in Oracle
• Lead new markets take-on in Cash Management and Fixed Assets into Service Center
• Lead implementation of system and process enhancements to improve the Financial Accounting Team efficiencies and scalability
• Act as back-up on transactional processing in Cash Management and Fixed Assets

The role will be responsible for managing 2 Financial Accountants as well as a Master Data Specialist.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
CA(SA) strongly preferred.
Refresher courses in financial matters at least in the last 3 years.

Minimum of 5 years of Accounting and supervisory experience preferred.

High technical accounting knowledge, knowledge in budgets, financial analysis, control of statistical and historical data and projections.

Handling of USGAAP, IFRS, SOX and NIFs.
