Maintenance Technician (JB2554)
Springs, Johannesburg
R 17 410.65 (Inclusive of 14% Provident fund.)

Overview
One of the leading global providers in engineered technology are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their team. You will be responsible for providing excellent technical service to the Packing department on all Braiding Machines

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Grade 12, SAQA NQF Level 4
Intermediate MS Office skills.
Qualified fitter and turner.
5 years’ experience in a similar role.
Good math skills
Mechanical engineering aptitude
Excellent communication skills
Creative problem-solving skills
Excellent planning, project, and time-management skills
Results driven, both individually and within team
Ability to work independently daily and be a strong “team player” within a sales/commercial team
Excellent communications skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Setting of all braiding machines to specifications for Braiding Operators.
Liaise with Braiding Operator and Bobbin Winder to establish when the machine needs to be set.
Implement preventative and corrective maintenance programs.
Ensure that the machines operate efficiently without prolonged down time.
Ensure the availability of critical spares.
Measure machine up time.
Weekly calibration of necessary machinery.
Ensuring Autonomous maintenance checks are done.
Weekly planned maintenance.
Proactively detect errors and defects in processes to ensure that they are more reliable.
Improving functions and processes, using TPM principles.
Administration of maintenance done.
Training of the Operators.
Early equipment management
Follow Safe Operating procedures for machine lock out/Tag out.
Any other reasonable instruction given by the manager
