SUMMARY:
Our client is a global leader in its industry, and they have an opportunity available for a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to fill the role of Maintenance Technician.

The Maintenance Technician will report to the Production Engineer and will be responsible for repairs and improvements on the production lines.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for daily, weekly, monthly preventative maintenance as per schedules
  • Responsible for breakdown fault finding, repairs, improvements, projects, and installation of mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment
  • Responsible to maintain spare parts and safety stock levels as per SAP min/max levels
  • Responsible for new initiatives and improvement ideas
  • Assist with production line set-up's and to correct line problems
  • Ensure that production lines are running to its optimum technical level to meet set targets
  • Assist with Lean projects
 
Key Skills & Competencies:
  • Must be able to read technical/electrical and electronic drawings and diagrams
  • Electronic fault-finding experience would be advantageous
  • Must have experience on Drives/PLC's/Network computers, etc.
  • Good communication skills - written and verbal
  • Good numeracy skills and computer literacy
  • Have a driver’s license and reliable transport
  • Must be able to work at heights (good health - medical requirement)
 
Qualification & Experience:
  • N4 Electrical/ Electronic artisan/ Millwright
  • Red Seal Certificate
  • Must have at least 3 years working experience
  • Must have single phase and 3 phase experience
  • Experience in the following would be advantageous: water and vacuum pumps, blowers, chillers, compressors, etc.
 
Working hours: Monday to Thursday 08h00 -17h00, and Friday 08h00-16h00.
You will be required to perform standby duties for breakdowns and production line support.
