SUMMARY:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible to install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment and machinery used in the flotation process, such as crushers, conveyors, pumps, and flotation cells.

Key responsibilities:
- Performing preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime
- Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and mechanical issues to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
- Inspecting and testing equipment components for wear, damage, or alignment issues, and recommending repairs or replacements as needed
- Fabricating and machining replacement parts using various tools and equipment, such as lathes, milling machines, and welding equipment
- Following safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others
- Documenting maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment conditions, in maintenance logs or computerized maintenance management systems
- Participating in training programs to stay current on new technologies and equipment upgrades
- Collaborating with other maintenance personnel, engineers, and operations staff to optimize equipment performance and reliability
- Providing support during plant shutdowns or scheduled maintenance activities to ensure timely completion of work and minimize production disruptions
Minimum requirements:- Red Seal Certificate as a Millwright – Trade tested
- 3 to 5 years post millwright apprenticeship experience in an industrial setting, preferably in a mineral processing or mining environment
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical systems
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems commonly used in mineral processing equipment
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures related to working in industrial environments, including lockout/tagout procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively as part of a maintenance team
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with colleagues and document maintenance activities
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by the operational needs of the plant
