POSITION INFO:

International provider of equipment and systems into the transportation industry including mining, freight rail, etc seeks to employ a suitably qualified and experienced Maintenance Superintendent. Position based in Kempton Park.

For the position you would be required to have:

• Trade tested Artisan: Fitter, Electrician, Millwright
• Around 5 years'' experience as a Maintenance Supervisor
• Minimum of N3
• Railway industry experience will be a definite advantage
• Ability to weld: Stick, CO2, Tig
• General Electrical building maintenance
• Electrical fault-finding experience: electric motors, PLC''s, standard electrical wiring experience
• Mechanical repairs/fault-finding: hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps
• Familiar with a 3-quote system, calling suppliers and requesting quotes

Responsibilities would include you to:

• Develop and update preventative Maintenance planning of all plant equipment, fire extinguishers, lifting devices, forklifts, generator
• Ensure yearly equipment calibrations
• Develop and plan a maintenance budget for all equipment in a rolling year cycle. Update a critical spare parts list and maintain stock accordingly. 
• Fault-finding / trouble shooting and carrying our repairs to equipment.
• Oversee maintenance contractors to carry out specialized duties
• Ensure adherence to health/safety procedures and policies
• Monitor equipment inventory (critical spares) and place orders when necessary to ensure availability
• Prepare maintenance schedules for the upkeep of the facility.
• Maintain accurate record of maintenance operations and present to upper management reports of daily activities

On offer is a salary of around R30k per month.
