SUMMARY:
Maintenance Manager - Factory equipment

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Efficient running and proactive maintenance of factory equipment and facility

Ensure that all equipment is operational
Ensure that all equipment is serviced according to suppliers specifications (this may be completed by internal or external)
Ensure that goods and services are procured to equipment specification
Ensure that goods that purchased are of the correct quality match specifications
Oversee all activity of the maintenance department drawing up work schedules
Establish the human and material resources that required carrying out flawless work
Work with peers to implement the company policies and goals
Ensure that all spares are stored in a secure and access controlled area
Ensure that stock levels are monitored and recorded periodically as per company requirement
Communicate with Procurement and Production on any issues related to breakdowns within production
Schedule and perform minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis
Continuous inspection and check up on preventative maintenance/break down jobs that were carried out by his team
Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures
Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required
Assist with the renovation / remodelling of buildings, repairs plaster and drywall, paints building structures
Ensure that there is a preventative maintenance plan for all equipment within the factory
Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures

Obtain estimates for suppliers, repair parts, order parts as needed
Maintains and update list of emergency numbers for suppliers and critical supplies of utilities
Manage spares ensuring that there is an effective procedure regarding security and issuing
Responsible for the accurate documentation of all jobs carried out in the factory daily and periodically
Ensure that QA documentation is complete and timeously handed over to QA
Ensure that all external communication meets the company standard portraying a professional image
Respond to internal and external customers’ requests timeously
Ensure that external suppliers/service providers are aware of company policies regarding procurement, quality assurance
Control and approval of overtime and leave
Coaching and development of resources to meet business objectives

Computer literate (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word

Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines
Basic mathematical skills
Reasoning ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

TRAINING NEEDS:
HR including disciplinary code and enforcement by HR Administrator/HR Consultant
Hygiene i.e. HACCP, GMPs by Food Technologist

Salary - +- R450 - R480kpa
