Maintenance Engineer: Water Treatment

POSITION INFO:

Leader in the treatment of water and wastewater, seeks to employ a Maintenance Engineer at their offices in Hermanus.

The right candidate will be responsible to plan and manage the work to ensure that the Overstrand operations are maintained to company and statutory standards. These duties will be carried out to meet operational and asset management needs.

Requirements:

• B.Eng or B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or assessed equivalent competence.
• At least 5-10 years proven experience of maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment preferably in the municipal water sector.
• Around 3 years'' experience in managing a team of artisans
• Good knowledge of SCADA, PLC''s, compressors, telemetry pumps, motors, vessels, filters, valves, drives etc.
• Preferably experience with computerised maintenance management systems such as CMMS, PlantMan, Pragma, INFOR EAM.
• Valid code 08 drivers'' licence.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all maintenance work is performed to the required quality standards.
• Ensure the safe and efficient performance of control, instrumentation, electrical and mechanical maintenance duties in accordance with prescribed maintenance procedures and safe working procedures.
• Subordinate (Electrician, C&I Technician, Maintenance Fitter and Planner, General maintenance assistants) control and supervision.
• Management of outside contractors
• Responsible person in terms of the occupational health and safety act regarding the maintenance and repairs operation.
• Manage maintenance budget
