Maintenance Electrician (Montague Gardens) Up to R26,000 depending on experience

POSITION INFO:

My client, a manufacturer of sealants and other materials since 1984, is looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrician for their manufacturing plant in Montague Gardens. Duties & Responsibilities include:

• Attending to equipment breakdowns, fault finding and machine change overs.
• Attending in general to the building’s electrical problems, fault finding and changes.
• Responsible for maintenance scheduling on all Distribution boards, electrical equipment & Power factors.
• Attending to all service (Generators, boiler, compressors & chillers) problems, fault finding and changes.
• Carrying out planned maintenance.
• Ensuring daily, weekly and monthly inspection schedules are maintained.
• Responsible for reliability and safety checks on all safety doors, e-stops.
• Responsible for all Inventory regarding Electrical parts.
• Responsible for all monthly electrical tool inspections.
• Responsible for Quarterly earth leakage inspections.
• Signing off on all electrical commissioning completed by contractors.
• Being involved in machinery upgrades and modifications.
• Initiating cost effective maintenance projects.
• Complying with safety and housekeeping rules and requirements.
• Troubleshooting on electronic equipment, PLC’s and AC/DC drives.
• Liaising with all relevant internal customers/suppliers.
• Safety and housekeeping.

You may be the successful candidate to join the maintenance team providing quality service and repair work first time right as efficiently and effectively as possible if you:

• Are a qualified artisan (Electrician) with a minimum of N4 - N6 Electrician Qualification
• Are a Red Seal Trade Tested Electrician.
• Have at least 10 years’ experience as maintenance electrician in the manufacturing environment.
• Are able to read, design and fault find from electrical schematic drawings.
• Have experience on PLC’s & AC/DC drives.
• Are able to communicate well with people at different levels.
• Are self-motivated and a team player.
• Have a high level of commitment and drive.
• Can work very closely with the production department.
• Are willing to work shift, standby, weekend work and overtime when necessary during the week.
• Can work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
• Have an excellent attendance and timekeeping record.
• Do have your own reliable transport
• Ideally have knowledge of boilers, chiller units and compressors
• Ideally have a Wireman’s license (Registered with Department of Labour as Installation Electrician)
• Are registered to legally issue COC’s (Certificate of Compliance)
• Preferably stays in the Northern Suburbs (near Montague Gardens)
