POSITION INFO:

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Conducting and coordinating all maintenance on machinery and equipment in the department
• Completing maintenance schedules and programs for each machine as per supplier recommendation
• Building an inventory of spares for the machines
• Properly maintaining maintenance records as per ISO 9001 Quality System
• Controlling machine spares as per required standards
• Housekeeping for workshop and maintenance
• Attending to mechanical breakdowns
• Ordering of necessary equipment and tools for the factory when necessary
• Assist production in achieving optimum efficiencies
• Advising on and implementing technical improvements where appropriate and cost effective
• Actively ensuring that all machines are serviced, cared for and maintained appropriately
• Be available for call outs/after hours
• Ensuring that the machines are running for night shifts

Minimum Requirements:

• Possession of a N3 qualification (minimum) or higher would be advantageous  
• Qualified Electrician or Millwright (trade tested)
• Have proven maintenance experience
• Have at least 2 -5 years’ experience in a production and or FMCG environment
• Experience in Pneumatics, Hydraulics and PLC fault finding and repairs
• An ability to interact with employees at different levels
• Team Player
• Identify and solve problems effectively
• A passion for Quality
• A willingness to work overtime
