An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Magazine Master to join a fast-paced operation where safety, compliance and coordination are key. This critical role ensures the secure administration, handling and dispatch of blasting accessories and explosives, in line with legal regulations and client requirements.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Magazine Master will be responsible for overseeing the daily receipt, verification, and dispatch of stock from the magazine. The ideal candidate will be thorough, safety-conscious, and proactive in maintaining the integrity of all stock movements, while ensuring stakeholder satisfaction at every stage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and verify deliveries of blasting accessories and explosives
- Ensure orderly, safe storage within the magazine and maintain accurate records
- Coordinate loading and dispatch processes, including vehicle and driver compliance checks
- Report discrepancies and initiate appropriate actions as per protocol
- Maintain up-to-date logs, delivery notes, and registers in both hard copy and digital systems
Essential Requirements:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics
- Certified Magazine Master with CIE accreditation
- Valid driver’s licence
- Minimum 2 years’ experience managing a magazine and handling explosives
- Solid understanding of transport regulations for explosives
- MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email)
Desirable Additions:
- Blasting Assistant Certificate (MQA)
- Competent A Certificate – MQA
