JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking to hire a hard-working and skilled machine operator

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The Ribbon Slitter Operator must ensure the quality of the product is up to the customer’s standards.
  • Ensure that the slitting machine is in a good condition and ensure that the DIE is sharpened if its blunt.
  • Responsible to ensure that the blades on the machines are always renewed for highly quality production and to avoid poor quality.
  • Responsible to ensure that the rolls are clean.
  • The Ribbon Slitter Operator is responsible for the safe set up and operation of the equipment within the department and looking after equipment and the safe storage of the equipment.
  • The individual must ensure conformance to all Health and Safety Policies, Rules and Regulations and general housekeeping standards, and prevent Non-Conformances.
  • Manufactures orders within given time limit.
  • Conduct general machine maintenance as set out by the maintenance plan dictated from Management.
  • Ensures correct core size/ correct size ribbon is used for the manufacturing of a specific job as per the job card.
  • Limits waste of material, set up to be done within allowed set up boundaries set out by management.
  • Follow the SOP before and after running the machine.
  • Operates the rewinding machine to check for errors.
  • Work with the packer to ensure products are loaded correct order.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Grade 12
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as machine operator.
