Microbiologist Assistant - EE/AA candidates only
POSITION INFO:
My client is seeking to employ a Microbiologist Assistant to join their team in Saldanha
Responsibilities:
- Support the Microbiologist by ensuring microbiological sampling of all incoming materials, intermediate products, final products conform to internal, local and international regulatory standards
- Ensuring all plant and staff adhere to safe food hygiene practises through regular and routine swabbing regime
- Conduct factory audits to ensure that practices in place are adhered to thus ensuring the standards are maintained
- Apply problem solving techniques to identify and solve all issues related to microbiological non-compliance
- Hands on involvement in laboratory, factory environment, vessels etc.
- Report writing
- Purchase of equipment and consumables for laboratory within budgetary constraints and ensuring no delays in testing and results
Requirement, Skills and competencies:
- Tertiary qualifications in Food Science/Food Technology/Microbiology and related sciences
- Some laboratory experiences
- Knowledge and application of hygiene and housekeeping principles including GMP’S.HACCP and, Sanitation practices
- Able to work flexible hours as and when required
- Be analytic minded and have numerical ability.
- Team player, yet be able to work on his/her own
- Apply theoretical knowledge in practical applications
