Job Description

This Product Manager role reporting is a challenging and exciting role, giving you the opportunity to show your abilities and attributes.

You will be responsible for managing the Production Printer product range and implement the product roadmap for all hardware products. To support the Senior Product Manager by providing strategic input on market stats and requirements, as well as product positioning. To establish and maintain day to day operations and vendor relations.

Your responsibilities:

  • Have an understanding of the marketplace and competitive environment
  • Provides in-depth market, industry and competitive analysis and positioning
  • Execute and deliver on the annual product strategy and roadmap
  • Implement local product strategy:
    • Develop pricing and packaging
    • Develop pricing models based on customer value (ROI) analysis.
  • Managing and effecting S-Sheet: Stock forecasting and ordering
  • SITA approval for government business
  • Manages product life cycle stages e. conceive, plan, develop, qualify, launch deliver and withdrawal.
  • Launches products to internal and external teams
  • Understand market trends, customer requirements and competitive landscape to ensure that new and correct products are introduced into markets
  • Responsible for the product planning and product marketing of designated solutions throughout its lifecycle
  • Assist the team to gather, understand and prioritize product and customer requirements to build a product vision for solutions, while working closely with vendors and developers.
  • Design market research projects to assess customer attitudes to the current product range and new product introductions
  • Collaboration – content for product and company collateral
  • Provide in-depth market, industry and competitive analysis and positioning
  • Maintains communication with customers and partners for product development
  • Collaborates with function leaders (marketing communication, sales, development, and customer service) to create the content and tools needed to successfully sell, implement and service the product
  • Work closely with the sales team (internal and channel) to develop sales tools and training
  • Interact with all members of the sales team (internal and channel) to ensure product knowledge by planning and executing internal sales training
  • Responsible for the launch of products internal and external teams
  • Develop and coach internal and external sales teams on the go-to-market planning and execution, including reference customers, beta programs, sales training, sales materials, and demos.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to help develop innovative programs, exhibition event and product or solution campaigns
  • Provide the sales teams with the necessary technical expertise to enable them to sell the product.
  • Provide the sales team with printed and electronic promotional material, product training as well as relevant product documentation
  • Work closely with the market-facing solutions consultants and solutions architects to understand business goals and client and end-user needs and how they relate to the product and proposed software.
  • Demonstrations on product to be given when requested by channel for end user
  • Manage product life cycle stages e. conceive, plan, develop, qualify, launch, deliver and withdraw.
  • Maintain expert knowledge on the ICT industry and trends
  • Review, and keep up to date on new developments regarding competitor and industry products
  • Support the product development process
  • Develop pricing and packaging strategies
  • Maintains communication with customers and partners for product development
  • Identify, assess and onboard new products
  • Create Business Cases for new products before approval and launch
  • Work with CSSD team and Service Operations manager on identifying skills requirements for the onboarding of new products
  • Overall accountability and responsibility for the Showroom, the demo devices and readiness thereof
  • Be the first point of contact for all hardware product related enquiries
  • Collate feedback from sales and customers
  • Represent the voice of the customer in senior level meetings
  • Evangelise the product internally and externally
Qualifications
  • National Diploma Marketing
  • IT related degree / diploma
  • BCom Marketing Management, Business Management, IMM
Skills

You will have at least 5 years'' experience in a Product Management role and have:

  • Prior experience managing a portfolio Office Automation products
  • Production printer range knowledge and experience
  • Experience with RT3 Tenders and SITA requirements / submissions
  • Experience with e-Commerce and retail
  • Experience with ICT, software and solutions
