MANAGER: SILO SERVICES

POSITION INFO:
The incumbent who reports to the Senior Manager: Grain is responsible for the management of the department Silo Services, with 37 service delivery points (grain silos) in the Client’s service area as well as a division administration at head office.
The suitable candidate must have the following:
ØA relevant B Degree with ten (10) years’ grain silo experience (recommendation in specific financial management and grain handling and storage), of which five (5) must be in a management position (strategic), or
ØA relevant B Degree with twelve (12) years’ agricultural experience of which seven (7) must be on a senior management level (strategic), or
ØA management qualification with experience in business processes (a Process Engineer will count towards recommendation) with seven (7) years’ in a senior management position (strategic), and an interest in the agricultural/grain industry.
ØA post graduate management qualification shall count as recommendation with any of the above requirements.
ØThe candidate must have at least ten (10) years’ strong analytical abilities, innovative thinking, good problem solving and communication skills in both Afrikaans and English and outstanding people skills.
Ø Candidate must have strategic level managerial experience (Very important).
Responsibilities :
ØManagement of the handling and storage functions for a variety of grain products.
ØInventory and quality management.
ØDrafting and implementing of the departmental budget.
ØManagement of personnel and assets.
ØControl and evaluation of business reports.
ØAnalysis of business results and management of deviations of the budget.
ØCompliance to statutory requirements regarding food and occupational safety.
ØLiaison with producers and enhancing client relationships in general.
ØReporting to the Senior Manager: Grain.
ØDrafting and implementing of the growth and expansion strategy; and
ØAll relevant administrative tasks.
