MACHINIST / AUTO SETTER PRECISION ENGINEERING (SINGLE/MULTI SPINDLE AUTO MACHINES) (Maitland) R30,000 PM CT

POSITION INFO:

Precision mechanical manufacturing plant, seeks an Auto Setter who will report to the Autos Supervisor.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

• Qualified Artisan/AA Sliding Head Auto Setter
• Previous experience in a high-volume precision mechanical engineering environment is essential.
• Good Technical knowledge of drawings, equipment and machinery.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

 

• Machines are set and maintained for producing components to the planning productivity and quality standards;
• Operators are fully instructed in the operation of the respective machine process prior to full operation of the machine under minimum supervision;
• Setting scrap is kept to a minimum and segregated from acceptable production;
• All production remains identified during all manufacturing stages;
• Corrective action is immediately taken when adverse trends are noted or brought to his attention;
• Maintain good housekeeping.

 

RECOMMENDED COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

• Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate ability to meet deadlines;
• Experience in various Single/Multi Spindle Auto machines;
• Problem solving: Ability to identify faults; problems and determine solutions;
• Knowledge of safety regulations (safety conscious at all times).
