Logistics/Supply Chain/ Commodity Trading

SUMMARY:
My client is based in the northern suburbs and is looking for a senior Logistics / Supply Chain person with strong commodity trading experience in the soft agricultural space to join their team.

POSITION INFO:

This is a varied and exciting role which needs solid experience in a number of areas.  These include:

• Contract management
• Ability to manage extensive customer portfolio with key responsibility being large local distribution focussed
• Liaison with 3PL like transporters, conveyors, vessel agents, clearing agents, insurance etc.   This is to monitor loading and discharging operations as required
• Opening Letters of Credit to ensure compliance with contract terms and negotiating with banks where necessary
• Follow up on daily operations to ensure cargo is loaded as per contractual obligations (e.g. weight, quality, quantity, packing etc)
• Daily updating of contracts
• Co-ordination of logistics and service providers
• Planning of transport
• Negotiating of transport rates
