Logistics Supervisor (Outbound)

SUMMARY:
To achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying and dispatching of finished products and to measure and report on the effectiveness of warehouse activities and employee performance. To organize and maintain inventory and storage area.

POSITION INFO:

• Grade 12 school leaving certificate.
• National Diploma or relevant qualification in inventory & operations management/ Supply Chain Management.
• In possession of or studying towards a BCom in Logistics and Supply Chain management will be advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role (warehousing / inventory / transportation & dispatch) within a manufacturing environment.
• Firm grasp / understanding of logistics activities and processes.
• Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and management.
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook)
• MUST COME FROM AUTOMOTIVE

Responsibilities:

Dispatch:

• Dispatch stock from finished goods warehouse
• Receive customer call-off from OEM’s
• Coordinate deliveries and allocate transporter (delivery planning)
• Allocate orders for picking
• Check parts identification against order
• Monitor deliveries (time of delivery, delivery cycle time)
• Check deliver notes (customer signature, stamp, etc.)

Warehouse:

• Maintain FIFO principle
• Report on obsolete, aged and damaged stock
• Maintain, monitor and report on days stock holding
• Achieve and maintain minimum of 95% stock accuracy
• Organize and maintain storage area
• Ensure inventory transaction accuracy (receiving / dispatching)
• Identify areas of improvement and establish policies and / or adjust existing policies
