SUMMARY:

An established manufacturer and distributor of chemicals is seeking the above to manage the logistics function for the depot and to assist with administrative functions related to the Crop Advisors.

JOB DESCRIPTION:


Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a tertiary qualification in Logistics, Procurement, Operations and/or Supply Chain
  • Minimum 3 years’ hands on experience in a logistics, distribution, production or warehousing environment within the agricultural chemical industry is essential
  • Must have a proven track record for excellent customer service
  • General knowledge of agricultural chemicals and their uses will be required
  • Must have strong administrative and computer skills, including Syspro and/or SA
  • Knowledgeable of all Acts, i.e. hazardous chemicals, road transportation, etc., including various SHEQ Management Systems standards is essential

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Participating Responding to stock requests received from Crop Advisors.
  • Executing efficient and accurate ordering and expediting orders from Buyers.
  • Expediting stock requests and communication of requests with Crop Advisors and depot personnel.
  • Monitoring stock levels at Crop Advisor warehouses.
  • Arranging transport for stock requests and ensuring that Crop Advisors obtain the stock on time and in full.
  • Following up on GRN’s from Crop Advisors with direct deliveries and stock transfers (GTI’s).
  • Participating in stock takes.
  • Prioritising tasks and managing time correctly in order to complete daily tasks timeously.
  • Adhering to all legislation pertaining to the transport of dangers and/or hazardous chemicals.
  • Performing a relief support function for other members of the department.
  • Filing and scanning paperwork.
  • Managing stock returns from depots.
  • Adhering to all internal control policies of the Company.
  • Upholding and working according to all internal and external safety guidelines
  • Conforming to relevant SHEQ rules and regulations as per company policy.
  • Undertaking any legal ad hoc tasks for which the incumbent is competent as directed by the Warehouse Team Leader or Management.
  • Investigating customer complaints to ensure customer centricity and recommending process to be followed.
  • Reporting customer complaints to the relevant Management staff member and ensuring relevant actions are taken.
  • Reporting the outcome of investigations and resolution of problems to the relevant Management staff member.
  • Ensuring continued communication throughout the process with the customer up to resolution of the problem, keeping the Warehouse Team Leader updated.
  • Ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained in areas responsibility.              
Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained
